...I am delighted this facility is here for my daughter and all the other residents.  My daughter has been here since the doors opened.  The wonderful thing is that I can come to visit often.  Also there are social events and meetings for the parents and friends.  The employees are friendly and helpful,  very capable to give the needed care of all.  This is a tremendous relief to me and my husband...

... my daughter has been a resident of Brookside for 24 years.  She has been loved, treated with respect, and given good medical care.  The staff does everything they can to see that the residents are given what they need and want.  My daughter attends the workshop, goes on outings, vacations and attends family events.  They encourage family involvement and will do anything they can to see that the residents spend as much time as possible with them.  I am kept informed about anything that happens to her and when you have to leave your daughter in the care of others, it is good to know that Brookside will see that she is well taken care of...

...I never worry about my son because of the wonderful care he receives.  All the staff treat him as if he was their own....All of his needs are met.  He gets wonderful medical care.  When he goes out to a doctor appointment or to the emergency room, someone is always with him...  I'm always called promptly about any concerns and about all updates and changes.  We will never have to worry if we can't be there and we can die peacefully if anything happens to us.  Brookside is so clean and nicely decorated so it's like home.  They also take him places that are so much fun for him.  Thanks everybody, we love you all and truly appriciate you all!....

...what a difference Brookside has made.  Our sister arrived at Brookside in early 2009.  She had spent her first 36 years living with our loving mother.  She was her primary focus for this entire time.  Unfortunately, our mother passed away and we were left with an important and difficult decision....We decided that leaving her in the only house she had ever known would be our best option.  With a 24 hr. caretaker service onsite, we thought we had chosen the best solution. We were wrong.
 
We hadn't realized that this was just a house and that she needed more than that.  She needed a home and she needed a "family" atmosphere.  That is what Brookside has become for her, a home and an extended family....She is our youngest sibling and we couldn't have chosen a better group of caring people to look after her. 
 
When we visit Brookside, unannounced, we constantly find the staff exceeding our expectations....They take pride in ensuring her physical wellbeing and social needs are met...she has come a long way.
 
This time last year our sister was barely alive, an illness had dropped her weight to 36.8 lbs.... After a year at Brookside, her nurses, case manager, dietician, and caregivers have enabled her to gain weight, and she is now at 62 lbs.  Her health has improved leaps and bounds.  Her happiness has improved even more.
 
We know this would not have been possible without the staff at Brookside.  When we leave Brookside now, we leave knowing it was the best decision we ever made, and we leave with the joy of knowing our sister is getting the best possible care and that she is living in a loving environment.
