I came out to photograph a population of incredible individuals, but what I saw went so far beyond what I expected. From the second I walked through the doors, you could feel the love in this place. There's this unspoken rhythm between the staff and the residents, it's not just care, it's connection. They know these individuals like the back of their hands. It felt like walking into a big, extended family where everyone belongs, and everyone is seen. While here, I spent time observing the therapy, nursing, case management team and floor staff. Watching them interact with the kids and adults, it was clear how deeply they care. It shows in everything they do.
