Leaps & Bounds (Mason) is where many of our adult residents spend part of their day. It is set up to support individuals who require a high level of assistance, including those who are non-ambulatory and need hands-on care throughout the day.
Residents are supported in a structured setting with access to activities, meals, and designated areas for rest. Staff assist with positioning, mobility, and personal care as needed, while also helping residents remain engaged in their environment.
Programming is adapted to each individual. Some residents participate in sensory based activities, music, or group interaction, while others benefit from quieter, more individualized support. The focus is on maintaining comfort, supporting daily routines, and providing appropriate stimulation based on each person’s needs.
The building includes a range of spaces used throughout the day. Residents have access to a cinema room, common area for activities, and quieter spaces for relaxation. All areas are set up to accommodate wheelchairs and equipment, allowing staff to provide support safely while residents remain engaged in their surroundings.

Hands-On Work Experience
We offer structured, hands-on activities that help build routine, focus, and a sense of purpose. Tasks like shredding paper or organizing give residents opportunities to practice valuable everyday skills with support from our staff, all at a pace that works for them.
Safe & Supported Travel
Getting to and from the program shouldn’t be a challenge. That’s why transportation is a core part of what we do. We offer dependable rides to and from our facility and help residents attend outings and special events. Every trip is supervised by trained staff who focus on making sure residents are safe and comfortable from start to finish.
Real Community Connection
Leaps and Bounds encourages individuals to stay active in their communities through regular outings and activities. These experiences help residents feel connected, build confidence, and practice real-life skills in familiar public settings, all with support from our trusted staff.
Katie Giblin, Administrator
Katie Giblin is an experienced and dedicated professional with over 30 years of service supporting individuals with developmental disabilities across a wide range of ages and abilities. As the Administrator at Leaps and Bounds, she is committed to fostering an inclusive, supportive environment that empowers individuals to reach their fullest potential. Katie brings a strong leadership background, having previously served as the Therapy Department Manager at Brookside Extended Care for several years. In this role, she oversaw therapeutic programming and guided interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, person-centered care.
Her foundation as an Occupational Therapy Assistant informs her hands-on, functional approach to care. Katie is passionate about promoting independence in daily living, as well as enhancing leisure and vocational skills. Through thoughtfully designed, structured activities within the day program setting, she helps individuals build confidence, develop practical abilities, and engage meaningfully in their communities. Katie’s career reflects her unwavering commitment to improving quality of life and creating opportunities for growth, independence, and fulfillment for those she serves.
