Janet O’Malley

Janet O’Malley is a registered and licensed dietitian with more than thirty years of experience, focusing on the nutritional needs of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Medical Dietetics from The Ohio State University’s School of Allied Medicine in 1981 and has devoted her career to promoting the health and well-being of those she serves. Early on, during Rescare’s launch in 1991, Janet led the creation and rollout of key dietary resources, including manuals for standard, text-modified, and emergency diets.

Today, Janet works as a consulting dietitian with Brookside Extended Care, developing individualized nutrition plans, supporting menu design, and helping ensure compliance with DODD and other regulatory guidelines. She also provides vital in-service education to staff, sharing her expertise across all areas of nutrition. Outside of work, Janet enjoys time with her husband, children, and grandchildren. She takes pride in balancing her family life with her deciation to the field.
