Michael Pignatiello

Psychological consulting services are offered at Brookside to assist residents, their families, and team members. “Dr. Mike” Pignatiello, Ph.D. has been providing helpful collaboration at Brookside since 2012, having worked with facilities and agencies for intellectual and developmental disabilities across Southwest Ohio for over thirty years, with him currently consulting at over a dozen intermediate care facilities (ICF’s) and providing assessments for several county developmental disability boards.

At Brookside, Dr. Mike addresses a variety of behavioral, cognitive, and emotional issues. He adopts a ‘DVR’ approach; that is, treating those who have developmental disabilities with the Dignity, Value, and Respect that they deserve, setting the framework for providing psychological care that is both informative and empowering. 

In 1983, he received his bachelor’s degree in biology and psychology from the Univ. of Dayton. In 1988, he received his doctorate in Applied Biopsychology from the Univ. of New Orleans, with an emphasis on cognition and the neurobiological bases of depression. From 1991-2005, he also owned a dynamic child and family clinical private practice that focused on behavioral and emotional issues.
